Dunai, Dolpa, Jan 14 : Women suffering from uterine prolapse have been identified in Dolpa district for the first time.
Soon after Centre for Environment and Agriculture Development (CEAD) started collecting data of women suffering from uterine prolapsed, the Women Empowerment Centre, Dolpa, made public the statistics that 20 per cent women of existing five VDCs are suffering from uterine prolapse.
A survey was carried out in 250 households of Tripurakot, Lhan, Shun, Shahartara, Jufal and Dunai, said Centre Treasurer Kali Chalaune.
A facilitator Dhan Chandra Sarki said that many women have been suffering from uterine prolapse in lack of awareness.
Centre for Environment and Agriculture Development (CEAD) has been carrying out investigative works related to uterine prolapse keeping in view that health of women in Dolpa district.
Free treatment of the women suffering from uterine prolapse would be carried out in Tarai.(RSS)
