Kathmandu, Jan 16 (RSS): The Supreme Court (SC) has begun group hearing on the cases of similar nature on daily basis from Tuesday.
As part of the group hearing, four separate benches were fixed on Tuesday, the first day of such practice.
In the group hearing, the cases relating to land registration, transfer of ownership and Guthi were arranged in the joint bench of Justices Kedar Prasad Chalise and Bam Bahadur Shrestha while the hearing on the cases of drug smuggling and citizenship were conducted by the joint bench of Justices Sharada Prasad Ghimire and Prakashman Singh Raut.
Likewise, hearing on polygamy, arbitrary activities and the issues related were held in the joint bench of Justices Mira Khadka and Anil Kumar Sinha.
Furthermore, the joint bench of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli and Justice Hari Krishna Karki heard the cases on forgery and the like.
Joint Spokesperson at the SC Nagendra Kalakheti said that such system was initiated to ensure people's access to justice and early clearance of the cases.
Currently, the number of cases is around 22,000 in the SC and in order to issue timely verdict on such cases and provide a sense of relief to the citizens, he added.
