Kathmandu, Sept 14 (RSS): Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said perpetrators behind the rape and killing of Nirmala Panta of Kanchanpur would be detected within sometime.
He said this after the National Assembly members in today's session of the Upper House demanded the government reply to the issue concerning Nirmala's murder. "The government is committed to taking action against the guilty."
The 13-year-old of Bhimdattanagar was killed after rape on July 26. But culprits are yet to be found out and a high level committee from the Home Ministry is investigating the case that has triggered a wave of protest from the local to national center level.
Meanwhile, the Home Minister informed the Upper House about the reason behind the arrest of journalist Raju Basnet and incidents relating to the death of Ram Manohar Yadav in police detention and about the Rolpa incident related to the murder of Tarun Dal district leader Rohit Pun on September 9. He briefed the House about human and property losses by incidents of natural disasters across the country.
