Kathmandu, Jan 10 : French Foreign Secretary Maurice Gourdault-Montagne returned home today upon completion of a two-day official visit of Nepal.
Foreign Secretary Montagne arrived here to take part in the Nepal-France consultation mechanism meeting held to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, the two sides agreed to cooperate with each other in the regional and international forums on the common issues that meet the national interests of both countries.
Paying a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, the French Secretary said that Nepal was in the priority list of France and that France was ready to collaborate in sectors of mutual interest.
The French Foreign Secretary was seen off at the Tribhuvan International Airport by French Ambassador to Nepal Francois-Xavier Leger and high ranking officials of the Foreign Ministry.
