Biratnagar, July 17: Biratnagar-based Regional Office of Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology has taken action against 2,675 businessmen of the eastern region for cheating customers in the fiscal year 2016/17.
Office Chief Manish Das said that the action was taken against the businessmen after they were found cheating customers in weight and measure, in course of monitoring. The action was also taken against the businessmen who did not have their weighing machines examined.
Similarly, the office provided license to 2,076 people to run the business during the period. The office also collected Rs 11.017 million as revenue from the license as well as fine taking action against businessmen.
Some 7,345 businessmen of the eastern region had their weighing machines tested in the last fiscal year. RSS
