Kathmandu, Sept 27: Former Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana has been provided with additional security at his residence following a reported security threat, Nepal Police said. 

According to a police official, former CJ Rana is presently at his residence under security arrangements.  

Senior Superintendent of Police from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Santosh Khadka, said police had taken Rana's security issue seriously and made necessary arrangements in response. 

"He said he feels comfortable at home, so we agreed to manage security at his residence," Khadka said.

Police confirmed that Rana was earlier moved to a safe location after assessing security threat last night.
