Kathmandu, Aug. 31: The weather is likely to remain generally cloudy throughout the country. Currently, a few places in Koshi, Bagmati and Lumbini provinces are receiving light to moderate rain.  
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of in the country. 
One or two places in the mountainous areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and the Tarai belt of Sudurpaschim Province are expected to receive heavy rainfall. 
The weather service mentioned that the monsoon winds are currently influencing weather conditions across the country and the monsoon trough is located slightly north of its normal position.
