Kathmandu, Aug 23: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has instructed the party central members to come up with a plan for the next 35 years, which is needed to complete the political journey ahead. 
Concluding the first series of ‘Policy, Organization and Leadership’ workshop for RSP central members today, President Lamichhane emphasized the need to rise up to fulfill the responsibility entrusted to him by the country. “Let's not talk about the past 35 years, but come up with a plan for the next 35 years. The past leadership did what it could. The work to be done in the next 35 years is now on our shoulders.”
Stating that the general public has established the Rastriya Swatantra Party as a major party with full trust, President Lamichhane stressed that everyone should be committed to fulfilling the expectations of the people as the enlightened community around the world is watching the party and its work.
President Lamichhane said that there may have been mistakes or weaknesses unknowingly, we will correct them and apologize. While emphasizing that the RSP should be more responsible as the entire country's attention is focused on the government, parliament and politics due to the people from different sectors of society joining the party. 
"Knowingly or unknowingly, our activities should not weaken democracy, this is our first responsibility," he said, "Today, various institutions are worried that democracy will be in danger. Democracy is not a house that collapses all at once. In the past, these institutions, including democracy, have become strong due to the sacrifices of political parties and martyrs. Therefore, we must also work very responsibly to protect democracy."
Emphasizing that the leaders and cadres of the RSP should go to villages targeting the upcoming local level elections, President Lamichhane said that information should be disseminated to the people about the work done by the government. 
The RSP government, which has raised the issue of good governance, has not been questioned about irregularities in any place so far, the President said, "This is the biggest achievement. We should unite to continue this as the government is laying the foundation for reforms." 
On the occasion, Lamichhane also shared that he would soon embark on a political tour of Madhesh Province and urged party leaders to visit villages and make the party dynamic.
"We should have clear answers to the questions asked by the general public regarding the government's work and activities," President Lamichhane said, adding, "We will have to work towards fulfilling what the general public voted us for." 
Stating that the party has been holding the government accountable, President Lamichhane said that the practice of connecting ministers with the people through the party office is a new beginning.
