Kathmandu, Aug 15: Nepal working hard to win medals through the kata discipline of karate at the upcoming 20th Asian Games.
It may be noted that Nepal is competing in women's singles and women's team kata at the Asian Games to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan from coming September-October.
According to the Nepal Karate Federation, Sanumaya Thing will compete in women's singles kata while and Alisa Raskoti Magar and Megha Limbu will join Sanumaya in team kata. The team is preparing under the training of kata coach Mandekaji Shrestha.
This is the first time Nepal is competing in women's team kata at the Asian Games.
According to the National Sports Council, closed camp training has been conducted for a long time targeting the Asian Games under 'Mission 2026'. The Council and the Nepal Olympic Committee are collaborating in the final preparations and management of the Nepali team for the Asian Games.
