Speaker Aryal urges for engaging efforts for rescue and relief works
Kathmandu, Aug 26: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Dol Prasad Aryal, has expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the devastating flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River this morning.
He drew the government's attention to coordinate necessary efforts for the rescue and treatment of the injured, searching for the missing, and relief for the affected and displaced.
In today's meeting of the House of Representatives, Speaker Aryal instructed that all state mechanisms be made effectively mobilized in rescue, relief, and assistance to affected citizens during disasters.
He also called for the private sector, non-governmental organizations, and civil society to provide necessary support and coordination in disaster management.
Taking into consideration the severe situation following the disaster, Speaker Aryal informed that all programmes scheduled for today have been canceled. Next meeting of the House of Representatives will be held on August 27, at 1:00 pm.
