Kathmandu, Sept 1: Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal has expressed grief over the death of King Harald V of Norway and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved royal family and the people of Norway.
On Tuesday, he reached the Norwegian Embassy in Pulchowk, Lalitpur and wrote a condolence message in the condolence book, extending condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Nepal over the death of King Harald V, his secretariat said.
Minister Khanal remembered King Harald V as a ‘rich monarch with a dignified and simple personality’ and mentioned that his long-term dedicated service to Norway reflected his wisdom, humility, compassion and unwavering loyalty to duty. “His strong commitment to peace, dialogue, tolerance and mutual understanding has left a legacy that will be remembered long after his reign,” Minister Khanal said in the condolence book.
“In this hour of grave sorrow and national mourning, the Government of Nepal and the Nepali people stand with the Government of Norway and the Norwegian people,” Minister Khanal said in the message.
